Got a boring corner in your home that needs a little love? Why not turn it into a stunning autumnal nook with a Halloween twist? With just a few items from around the house and a dash of creativity, you can create a cozy, seasonal spot that will wow your guests and bring festive cheer to your home. Let’s get started!
Materials You'll Need:
- A1 frame (borrowed from another room)
- Halloween-themed digital print (downloaded from Etsy)
- Printing service (local print shop)
- Black twig tree (reused from previous years)
- Orange and brown leaves (from a garland)
- Hot glue gun
- Black, white, and orange wooden tree decorations
- Neutral throws
- Rust orange cushion
- Grandmother’s chair (or any cozy chair)
Step-by-Step Guide:
Step 1: Get Your Artwork
Head over to Etsy and search for a Halloween-themed digital print. Opt for something retro and classy to add a unique touch to your space. We found a fabulous retro-style print for just over £5. Download it and take it to your local print shop to get it printed in A1 size, which cost us £15. This print can be stored and reused year after year, making it a fantastic investment.
Step 2: Frame the Print
Grab an A1 frame from another room in your home. We pinched one from the bedroom, but any large frame will do. Place your newly printed Halloween artwork into the frame and hang it on the wall in your chosen corner. This will be the focal point of your autumnal display.
Step 3: Create Your Autumn Tree
Bring out that black twig tree you’ve had tucked away. To give it an autumnal makeover, take orange and brown leaves from a garland and use a hot glue gun to attach them to the tree. This transforms it into a beautiful autumn tree that ties in perfectly with your Halloween print. Add some black, white, and orange wooden decorations to your tree. These small accents will enhance the Halloween vibe and make your tree look festive and fun.
Step 4: Set Up the Chair
Find a cozy chair to place in your corner. We used a chair that belonged to our late grandmother, which is due for an upgrade but works perfectly for now. Throw some neutral-colored throws over it to balance out the dark colors of the print and tree. Finish off with a rust orange cushion that matches the orange in your print.
Step 5: Put it all together
Take a step back and admire your work! Make any final adjustments to ensure everything looks just right. The great thing about this corner is that it can be easily switched up for different seasons, allowing you to keep your decor fresh and exciting all year round.
Transforming a small, unused corner of your home into a festive autumnal haven is easier than you think! With a bit of creativity and a few simple items, you can create a cozy, stylish spot that brings the spirit of Halloween into your home. Plus, the versatility of this space means you can update it for any season.
Happy decorating, and enjoy your new autumnal corner!
