I love Macrame, from Wall Hangings to Furnishings! Here I decided to upcycle an old Timber Stool to create a Plant Stand with a difference!
To start with, I sanded back the weathered finish using an orbital sander.
I also used a Multi Tool with a sanding attachment to get into the hard to reach areas.
I then applied a finishing oil using a rag to wipe over every surface. I then waited for 15 minutes prior to wiping off the excess. This not only adds a stain to the timber, but also adds protection for a lasting finish.
I then added the macrame cord. Wrapping layer after layer and using a simple knot to tie the end pieces.

I love how the macrame cord adds a contrast in colour and texture to give the boho aesthetic that I wanted for this piece!
