Transform leftover materials into a stunning decorative tree perfect for adding warmth to your home or garden this winter! Whether you light it up with string lights or adorn it with flowers, this charming tree is a wonderful way to get festive. Let’s get started!

Materials and Tools

Wood and Measurements

  • Deck boards (split in half, approx. 5.5 cm wide):
    • 5 planks at 25 cm each
    • 1 plank (top left) at 30.5 cm
    • Bottom plank at 44 cm
    • Support plank at 33 cm
  • Angles: Top of the tree cut at 45°, all other angles at 22.5°

Other Materials

  • Screws (suitable for outdoor use if the tree will be outside)
  • Sandpaper
  • Wood stain (e.g., leftover stain in "mocca")
  • Optional decorations: string lights, bulb, flowers, pine branches, etc.

Tools Needed

  • Saw
  • Screwdriver or drill
  • Sanding block or electric sander
  • Staining brush

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Your Materials

Split the deck boards to your desired width (approx. 5.5 cm). Then cut the planks to the specified lengths, ensuring the angles match (45° for the top, 22.5° for the others).

💡
Tip: Double-check your measurements before cutting to avoid waste.

Step 2: Assemble the Tree

Arrange the planks in the shape of a tree, starting with the longest plank at the bottom and the shorter ones stacked above. Then screw the planks together securely. After, attach the 33 cm support plank at the back to stabilize the structure.

Step 3: Smooth and Stain

Start by sanding all edges of the planks thoroughly for a polished look and safe handling. Then apply the wood stain evenly across all surfaces. Allow the stain to dry completely before proceeding.

Step 4: Decorate Your Tree

  • Lighting: Wrap string lights around the tree for a festive glow or place a bulb at the base for a lamp effect.
  • Natural Touches: Add flowers, pine branches, or seasonal decor for a personalized touch.
💡
Safety Note: Ensure the tree is stable and test any lights or bulbs before use, especially outdoors.

Enjoy Your DIY Masterpiece!

This decorative Tree is not only eco-friendly but also endlessly customizable. Whether it’s glowing in your living room or standing proudly in your garden, this project will bring a warm and festive touch to any space.

Happy crafting! 🎄✨
