Here's how I transformed my dining area into a long awaited soft neutral space...

THE SOFT NEUTRAL SPACE

I began this project with two purchases... a £15 Facebook Marketplace table and 4 boucle chairs from a All About Chairs UK. I used products from Rust Oleum to customise the furniture and achieve my desired aesthetic.

THE DINING TABLE

TOOLS & PROCESS:

Rust Oleum's Finishing Wax in White transformed this table so effortlessly!

To prep the table, I used paint stripper to remove the existing varnish, sanded it and it was ready to apply the wax. You can apply the finishing wax as light or liberally as you like. Buff the wax to your desired texture. I used a microfibre cloth to do this. A little goes a long way! I only used half a tin for this project.

The wax dries within a few hours, no need to seal.

ESSENTIALS:

- A well ventilated space
- Mask
- Filling knife/wall scraper
- Microfibre cloth to apply the wax

THE DINING CHAIRS

When I purchased these dining chairs, I knew I wanted to customise the legs with a beige paint. Check out the video for the painting process!

I used three cans of Rust Oleum's Painters Touch spray paint in Heirloom White - it has a beautiful satin creamy finish that I’m obsessed with! I layered the coats of paint until evenly covered and allowed 24hrs drying time.

ESSENTIALS FOR THIS PROJECT:

- a well ventilated space
